Name: shadowsong26
Story: Take a Breath
'Verse: Feredar
Colors: Ruby #4. drops of blood, Hills of Iowa #7. So if you want to see the world with me let's go.
Supplies and Materials: graffiti (Lilith Faire Day 4 Main Stage), photography, frame (1007 FY), seed beads
Word Count: 216
Rating: PG
Characters: Telri
Warnings: References to general widespread stigma against blood-mages.
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always.
Telri had known for a long, long time that she was in love with Isshiri.
It was what came next that was the hard part.
Part of it was just because of who they were. A lonely peasant girl pouring her heart out to a beautiful prince--even if they'd traveled together for a year and more, that sort of thing only went well in fairy tales. And this world was not a fairy tale.
And part of it was maybe because of the rest of it--she couldn't tell him she loved him without first telling him she was a blood-mage, it wouldn't be fair to either of them. And however many times she practiced that conversation, in her head, in her dreams, in her moments alone...
But then he found out, anyway, and he stayed with her, anyway, and she thought of all the chances she'd let pass her by and it all seemed so...so stupid now.
She loved him. And even if he didn't--even if he didn't love her the same way, he cared enough for her to stay. To want to keep travelling together. What was the worst that could happen now?
She waited another few days, for a moment when it felt right, then closed her eyes, and took a breath, and spoke.
