Lapis Lazuli 4, Cadmium Yellow 15: Yarn
Author: Kat
Title: Yarn
Story: Shine Like It Does
Colors: Lapis lazuli 4 (yarn), cadmium yellow 15 (Art is what you can get away with.)
Supplies and Materials: Seed beads, fabric (red yarn), brush (hapless),
Word Count: 120
Rating: G
Summary: Smokey is knitting a scarf.
Warnings: none.
Notes: Pride fic #18. Smokey uses male pronouns, but his gender and sexuality are best expressed by the shrug emoji. He also may or may not be the Hennessy kids' half-sibling.
Tonight, Smokey is knitting a scarf.
Or at least he's trying to. The yarn knots around his fingers and makes him drops stitches, plus he keeps forgetting when to change the colors, so his projected rainbow is really more of a colorblock.
He switches to a vivid crimson that leaves red streaks on his hands and thinks, he could stop. It's June, he won't need this scarf for a while (or at all- he does live in Santa Barbara). He could put it aside and worry about it later, or more likely forget it until he finds it, years later, still unfinished.
The finished product is lumpy and odd-looking and way too hot for summer, but Smokey loves it anyway.
