Cadmium Yellow 10: Art
Author: Kat
Title: Art
Story: Shine Like It Does
Colors: Cadmium yellow 10 (Outsider Art)
Supplies and Materials: Miniature, glitter (To S. M., a Young African Painter, on Seeing His Works, by Phillis Wheatley)
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
Summary: Art saved Felix's life.
Warnings: none.
Notes: Pride fic #13. I wish Jack and Felix would tell me if they get together or not. This is annoying.
Felix grew up closeted in a Catholic family in Texas, and if he hadn't needed to be closeted, well, he hadn't known that at the time, had he? The point was that it was hard, and if he hadn't painted he probably would have... he didn't know. Something bad.
But he did paint. He joined the artsy kids and found out that a bunch of them were queer. He attended life drawing classes and learned to prep a canvas. He got an art scholarship to UCLA and met Jack.
He wasn't exaggerating when he said that art saved his life.
