Ah, man, I have missed your writing so much. I remember the earlier stuff you did for Kaitan and her hardships of learning to settle in to city life. There's such a richness to the little everyday things here--the way the kitchenette is set up, the nods to the way the city is built in the desert. Very evocative!
And, oh, I feel for her. I might just be a sucker for stories about kids struggling to get their feet under them, but this was a really nice reintroduction to her struggle and your exploration of Fensirt as a whole.
