Rain Cloud 19, Silver Screen 13, Lapis Lazuli 1: Uptown Girl
Author: Kat
Title: Uptown Girl
Story: Shine Like It Does
Colors: Rain cloud 19 (Tripped), silver screen 13 (Love means never having to say you're sorry.), lapis lazuli 1 (fabrication)
Supplies and Materials: Graffiti (one hour prompts, "Uptown Girl," Billy Joel), novelty beads ("Don't come home for Christmas /You're the last thing I wanna see." - Yule Shoot Your Eye Out, Fall Out Boy)
Word Count: 179
Rating: PG for one swear word.
Summary: Daniel's found out Charlotte's real last name, and takes it about as well as you'd think.
Warnings: One swear word.
Notes: This took kind of an angry turn. Daniel is Charlotte's boyfriend. Ish. Probably ex at this point.
So. Charlotte wasn't a Rueda.
Daniel could have been all right with that. People changed their names all the time, and it wasn't as if she wasn't entitled to it. Anyway, they'd only sort of been seeing each other. He could have been okay with it.
But she was a Hennessy, one of those Hennessys, and that was not okay at all.
Why had she lied? Pretended like she was scrimping and saving, trying to make ends meet like every other poor-ass person in their apartment block, when really her family was richer than God. Her father chartered a private jet to come get her, for God's sake. Poor little rich girl laughing up her sleeve at all of them.
He was sorry for her sister, he really was. Nobody deserved that. But no one deserved to be lied to, either, and definitely not the way she'd lied to him.
There was no way she was coming back to her little apartment and grungy classroom and sketchy laundry room. Just no way.
Daniel refused to feel bad about it.
