Angel Cake #19
Name: shadowsong26
Story: I wish to give to you the sky
'Verse: Feredar
Colors: Angel Cake #19. Sky
Supplies and Materials: yarn, frame (990/991 FY), fabric, modeling clay
Word Count: 185
Rating: G
Characters: Dallu and Taz
Warnings: None
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always. For World Poetry Day, and because I needed to do something Dallu-centric with that yarn prompt. Also, I love villanelles.
I wish to give to you the sky,
That I have cherished all my days
In all its wonders, shining high.
You ask me why I stayed, and I
Have nothing more than this to say:
I wish to give to you the sky.
You ask why I left, I reply
The world is full of glorious ways
In all its wonders, shining high.
We sail onward, high and high
For we have reached the end of days,
And I wish to give to you the sky.
We sail to the edge of that sky,
The place from whence I made my way
In all its wonders, shining high.
I know that things have changed, but I
Still want to show you all the ways
I wish to give to you the sky--
You would not let me fall or fly.
For we will keep it, all our days,
In all its wonders, shining high.
When I ask why you keep me by
You catch my hand, and smile and say
You wish to share with me the sky
In all its wonders, shining high.

This is the first rhymed villanelle I've written, and I'm glad it turned out as well as it did. Unrhymed is a little easier.
