I hate it when Keta comes to visit me.
I see the pity behind her too-soft eyes. It makes me want to hurt her, so she’ll stop looking at me.
But when she leaves, I miss her--the only person I have left, the only person who ever comes, the only other person still trying to be as Daddy raised us. Because when Keta goes, all I have for company is the endless wind, screaming around my fortress.
When Keta goes, I’m all alone.
I hate it when Keta comes. Almost as much as I hate it when she’s gone.
