She's done.
She's done. She's done. She is done.
She packs just enough to get her through the next two weeks, gets her cat in a carrier, and then calls Molly for a ride.
The girl shows up before James gets home and he's grateful. She doesn't want to have the confrontation of leaving in front of her but she was going to if it came to that.
She's done.
They drive back to Jim's, Molly quiet and Harrison making soft, displeased noises in his carrier. Victoria is trying to ignore the queasy feeling in her stomach but she can't quite manage it.
They get inside and Jim is smiling, already holding out a cup of tea for her. "Here, love." He says. "You've earned it."
She's not sure she believes him, she's not even sure if she can't stop thinking about how horrible this is going to go when James has realized what she's done, but she accepts the tea and drinks is down, hoping for the best.
She reminds herself that even the largest dragons may be defeated and she is determined to win the fight.
