hunter's chance

Name: Mischa
Story: A Chant of Exorcists
Colors: spark (I have a hiding place when spring marches in)
Supplies and Styles: (graffiti - dead time, prompt here)
Word Count: 170
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: N/A
Summary: Two exorcists and the Wild Hunt.
Notes: another in the same universe as dancing without malice or mercy, which didn't end up being a one-shot after all. Needs a story tag.

If Jamie had a dollar for every perilous situation he’d found himself in since becoming an exorcist, he’d have more than enough money to pay off his student loans. Unfortunately, he still had a lifetime’s worth of debt and a shitty life insurance policy that, as far as he was aware, didn’t pay out on deaths caused by the Wild Hunt.

“I’m an exorcist!” he hisses at Sophia, as he straightens up from drawing the wards, not sure if they’ll hold. He doesn’t have enough iron - it wasn’t like he was expecting to deal with more than one faerie, much less the entire Wild Hunt bearing down on them.“Aren’t I supposed to deal with ghosts? Demons? Not Herne the Hunter and his entire Hunt!”

His part-time apprentice tosses him a lopsided grin. “Forget what you’re supposed to deal with,” Sophia advises him, much too calmly for his nerves. “It never works out the way it’s supposed to.”

I wonder if you have to get a masters in exorcism... this was fun!
