Rose #20
Name: Greenling
Story: Asking for Roses
Colors: Rose #20 (But friendship is the breathing rose, with sweets in every fold.)
Supplies and Styles: Graffiti (Dead Time), Novelty Beads (Image)
Word Count: 308
Rating: G
Warnings: I... I think this is actually perfectly clean, strangely enough.
Summary: Diana convinces Alex to have Friendship Bonding Time by introducing her to one of his... less advertised hobbies.
Comments, criticism, and questions are all appreciated. (Also I apologize if it seems like I'm making fun of the pictures I'm being given and not my characters. That is not the intent.)
"Are you sure you want to do this?"
Alex's voice was nonchalant, but he'd been subtly nervous the whole evening, tapping his fingers and staring intently into space. She was starting to be able to read him well, instead of just pretending to, and it was almost as much fun as playing an actual game.
"What, you think I'll judge you once we get going?" Diana tried to make her smile friendly. "Remember, this was my idea."
He paused, then sighed, leaning back in his chair and squirming a bit. "Honestly, I'm worried people are going to think you're a fourteen-year-old boy and get passive-aggressive at you."
"Pshht. I can handle angry internet nerds. And what am I doing that you're not?"
He raised one fluffy eyebrow at her over his laptop screen. "My character is wearing clothes."
Diana waved her hand. "My character is a sexy robot warrior goddess with a laser arm and a chassis made of magic supermetal. You should be glad she respects human customs enough to cover most of the good bits."
"My character isn't human," Alex said seriously. "She's a Summoner."
"Just because she's twelve and has a pet doesn't mean she isn't human. The whole spirit thing is just an excuse for perverts who like little animal girls."
"Oh my god, let's just go before we both think better of it." Alex hid his face behind his hand, but Diana saw a smile behind it. She stick her tongue out- he snorted- and hit the button to join the server.
"Did you say you'd ever roleplayed before outside of an MMO?" Alex asked as the game loaded up.
"I played D&D once in college, but everybody was drunk or high so we just wound up casting spells at each other."
"Great." His tone went back to fake-nonchalant. "This will be fun."
