THE LAST STORYTELLER
Author: JT
Title: THE WORST MOVIES PART WHATEVER
Story: There's a Hole in the Library (The Last Storyteller)
Challenge: Hollywood Reboot
Word Count: 335
Rating: PG
Summary: Magical Girls a Go-go
Warnings: Satire
Notes: ALSO asked for this.
CAMERA: Ruins of what used to be a large city. It's dark and gritty looking that's fairly devoid of colors outside of burnt sienna tones. Camera goes through a hole in a ceiling where children are holding quills and drawing or writing furiously. One girl draws a dragonfly. It shakes off the page and flies off.
VOICEOVER 1: The world has been over for a long time. That's what they told everyone. That's what he thought too until he she showed up. The girl is quiet to a fault and smiles at everyone. There's something off about this one.
VOICEOVER 2: The world that Thorn Nightmoon has grown up with is dull. To save himself from dying of boredom he makes up tales. Not that anyone approves of them. His father wants him to take over the package running business and his mother wants him to marry. He has other plans, but like his tales, Thorn keeps them mostly to himself.
A special run to what used to be a library takes him face to face with magic for the first time. But this girl needs to go somewhere. She tells him that he's going to share his stories because it is his destiny. Thorn knows he was meant for more that he was greater than the life that he was promised.
In the night, he takes the girl with him. Together they face monsters, demons, and unspeakable horror. With only the light of her necklace to guide them, Thorn and the Artist draw nearer to their final destination. But what is it?
You may have seen this plot-line a million and seventeen times before! But this time it's different because this plucky young hero has stubble. Come experience adventure's not yet told with the Last Storyteller!
