Clean Again #8, Rose #14
Name: shadowsong26
Story: Long
'Verse: Lux
Colors: Clean Again #8. Beautiful Lengths, Rose #14. The splendor of the rose and the whitness of the lily do not rob the little violet of it’s scent nor the daisy of its simple charm. If every tiny flower wanted to be a rose, spring would lose its lovliness.
Supplies and Materials: photography, fabric, glue ("You might think you have a handle on the events of the day, but you're most likely viewing reality through rose-colored glasses.")
Word Count: 150
Rating: PG-13
Characters: Mariko, Lux
Warnings: Referenced interspecies sex
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always. Last Clean Again! Which is why I did three today, wanted to finish...This takes place in the early stages of Mariko and Lux's relationship, on the CSP station, before the fire.
Everything about Lux is long. Long limbs, marble-hard and smooth, twined with Mariko’s after making love; long fingers, casually tangled in Mariko’s curls; long hair, night-black and silky, puddled beneath them; long face, with a faint smile always playing at the corners of her mouth, a smile with a secret that Mariko craves.
Everything about Lux is long, and beautiful--just human enough to be familiar, just inhuman enough to be enticing, flexible and impossibly strong; and Mariko curls into her lover, feeling unbelievably blessed that this long, beautiful, impossible, otherworldly being is hers.
And if the promise of strength in those long, dexterous hands makes Mariko feel a little bit fragile; and if her comparative lack of height and grace makes her feel a little bit ordinary--well, she knows Lux would never hurt her; she is safe in Lux’s arms, safe and loved and somehow just as beautiful.
