White 12, Hills of Iowa 15: Mnemosyne
Author: Kat
Title: Mnemosyne
Story: In the Heart
Colors: White 12 (off white), hills of Iowa 15 (I am the one who will remember everything)
Supplies and Materials: Pastels (Decorating the tree), seed beads (Paige), miniature, bichromatic
Word Count: 100
Rating: PG
Summary: Paige decorates her tree.
Warnings: none
Notes: I'm behind on these so you're getting four at once.
Most people, when they decorate their trees, they make it about color and light. And that's the way Paige decorates the tree at work, in pleasing lines and harmonious colors. That's what people want to see.
But at home, her tree is different. Her tree is always about memories: the handprint heart she made for her parents, a delicate crystal bell an ex-lover bought her, laminated pictures of every member of her family, and now Kayleigh's mother too. The ornaments may not make her happy, exactly, but they are memories.
Paige has to remember. She's not sure anyone else will.
