Jade #13, Snow White #11, Ivory #5
Name: shadowsong26
Story: All the World to Me
'Verse: Feredar
Colors: Jade #13. My son, mistaken, is pleased by my ruddy face/I smile: I know it's alcoholic red, Snow White #11. straw into gold, Ivory #5. In every heart there is a room.
Supplies and Materials: fingerpainting (Petrarchan sonnet), photography, eraser (Legitimate Sorell AU), feathers, fabric, pastels (my current gen + romance card I5 "falling in love"), novelty beads ("Trust the blood, however, waltzing to four-part harmony within the heart, and you will be moved to witness, through the chinking’s thin fissures, the shadows of the enchanted. - Paul Zarzyski"), glitter (perfection)
Word Count: 119
Rating: Oblique references to an unhappy marriage
Characters: Fera, Sorell Younger
Warnings: None
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always. This takes place in an alternate 983 FY. Obviously, this little boy is different from another by the same name who appears in a different AU.
You have warm eyes, green like mine, deep like his,
Tiny eyes, so tiny, set in a face
So small it fits in my hand. This is placed
Above tiny shoulders, tiny hands; is
All the world to me. Nothing then, but this,
Something to give me life, here in this place,
To give me hope. But you're so newly made,
Your smile, barely formed, isn't mine, it's his--
After four years, I have you, warm in my
Hands, safe at my breast, my handsome son, the
Heir to all your father's greatness, our joy,
Sorell, for your grandfather, so named. I
Don't care. The name is nothing much to me--
Just you, my husbands son, my baby boy.

I...don't think this AU will have a very happy ending for her, no. Especially since this Sorell Younger would be seven when his father's killed. :/
