A lucky break--an ambitious nobleman with collared mages in his bodyguard, who tried a coup.
And missed the youngest son, still unmarried. And Lova had three daughters, already trained as regular operatives, with time to retrain--it would be a year before the boy's handlers started a serious candidate search, possibly two.
Lova's late husband's last mistress was an ally, and discreet. She could teach them to seduce. A neat, irreproachable insertion, and the first major victory for the Movement in decades. A Movement operative, mother to the next King...
Lova smiled, and drafted a letter to her daughters' new tutor.

Yep, Nida's mom. She actually figures out that their honey trap trapped Nida, too, so she backs off and lets Rema be her handler for a while. I'm not sure she's still alive when Rema botches things, or she'd probably have intervened and salvaged the situation. Assuming Nida was even able to break with the Movement with her mother still looming over things.
