Shadow #14, Blood Red #3, Gunmetal #9
Name: shadowsong26
Story: Step One
'Verse: Feredar
Colors: Shadow #14. bank robbery, Blood Red #3. gunshot, Gunmetal #9. Revolver
Supplies and Materials: miniature collection, pointillism, photography, eraser (urban fantasy AU), stain (“Opportunity makes a thief.” - Francis Bacon), charcoal, pastels (my current GRK card B3 "in public"), seed beads, novelty beads (got it easy)
Word Count: 171
Rating: R
Characters: Kit
Warnings: Armed robbery, murder
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always. Takes place when Kit is about seventeen, shortly before Mel is born.
Dad left his revolver where he could find it, so he figures he might as well.
He brings a ski mask, a couple of bullets, a bag, a pair of gloves, a car with the license plate carefully shadowed.
He picks a convenience store where no one will recognize his voice, far from home and school, an old one with crap cameras.
He goes in when it won't be crowded--fewer hostages to control, and, as he figures it, probably a better chance to get out without being caught.
He spins the part where the bullets go, and points it at the cashier's head.
She gives him the money, and he pulls the trigger anyway.
It wasn't the empty one.
In and out in five minutes, with a couple hundred dollars--other than a few trash can fires he started at school, his first actual crime.
He stops a few blocks away, uncovers the license plate, then drives nonchalantly back home.
He doesn't care about the cashier's name.
No one ever learns his.

Yeah. Kit fit the entire murder triad. He'd done a few petty shoplifting/vandalism-type crimes before this, plus a couple of small fires, but this robbery/murder was his first serious crime. He actually doesn't commit any murders between here and when he starts his serial killing, in part because he fixated on Mel, in part because he found employment that had an outlet for his violent tendencies.

He does get caught in this timeline, but not for something like 10-12 years. I haven't fully settled on his body count. He's never charged with this crime, though.
