Summary: Elina tries on a bikini.
Tam glanced at herself in the dressing room mirror, deciding that she was in fact overdressed for this part of the city. She gave little thought to what she threw on her body, but Elina had taken her shopping often enough that she had as many silk shirts as t-shirts. The solid black button-up looked nice, she supposed, but didn't match the dingy walls and ripped plaster.
On the other side of the door, Elina muttered to herself and sighed. "I don't think this is going to work."
"Let's have a look."
Elina made her 'I don't want to' noise, but the door creaked open and she stepped out. A deep blue with white trim, the bikini top was a little more revealing on Elina that it had looked on the hanger, but Tam didn't mind. At all.
"Uh," she said.
El turned bright red. "I told you. I look horrible! I'm all--" Elina waved her hands. "Pudgy!"
Tam stood next to her as she glared at herself in the mirror. "So? I like it."
Elina pouted. "My belly's too big."
"Your belly is cute. And, uh, no one's going to be looking that far down anyway."
Elina made a strangled, indignant noise and smacked Tam on the arm. "Perv!"
Tam laughed, moving out of the way of another slap. "It's not my fault you're beautiful."
Elina made a face and turned back to the mirror, but Tam caught the curve of a smile. "I'm glad you think so." She hugged herself. "I thought I lost enough weight. I didn't realize they'd make me shorter."
Tam edged closer, coming up behind Elina to avoid further violence. "The mass had to go somewhere."
"Mass," Elina deadpanned.
"Women's bodies are just different than men's. That's all." She kissed Elina's hair. "I like the way you look."
"Thank you." Elina leaned back into Tam. "I don't think I'm ready for this much... exposure, though."
Tam shrugged. "Okay. We can get you a one piece. Or one of those tankini things. You can get a coverup, too." She brushed Elina's hair to the side. "Or we could not go to the beach."
Elina laughed. "We're going if I have to drag you there kicking and screaming. I just don't want to look horrible when I do it."
Tam bit her lip but couldn't hide the smile.
