Royal Purple #9, White Opal #10
Name: shadowsong26
Story: Trickle
'Verse: Feredar
Colors: Royal Purple #9. Wisdom is the prop of the realm., White Opal #10. Vision
Supplies and Materials: photography, tapestry (Royal Purple and Eraser), eraser (Incest AU), feathers, modeling clay, pastels (my current gen + romance card O4 "superstition"), chalk, glue ("You might feel uneasy today with the expectations of others...accept the differences between your needs and your reality.")
Word Count: 251
Rating: R
Characters: Kirana
Warnings: Witnessed character/familial death with description of the body
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always.
The fire dies when the vision ends.
This one, at least, doesn't take much time to process. It was abundantly clear--Isshiri lying on the ground, eyes open and empty, a faint trickle of blood coming from the side of his mouth.
What does take time is deciding who to tell--she can't keep this quiet. Especially since the impression was that there might--might--be enough time to do something, to save him...
Shaking, Kirana relights the fire, finding the vision again with little difficulty, but with no more detail given. No clear impression of time or exactly what will happen, just her brother, empty.
She tries some of the tricks she's learned, pursuing different forks in the road--but they all come to that image, that one, ghastly image. If there was a way to avoid it, it's too late.
She can't help but wonder why she saw it at all, and with such urgency, if no fork she can think of would change it.
Finally, she gives up and puts the fire out. Slowly she takes out her pen and writes a brief note to her mother. She leaves out the part that she couldn't see any possible change--Mother is more devious than she is by far. She might know a way.
She seals the letter, then lets out a long slow breath. It's out of her hands now. She's done all she can.
When she closes her eyes, she still sees that little trickle of blood.

They...kind of do? Isshiri and Nolani definitely got counseling after Ulore, but that may not have been formal/official/someone specifically trained for it. It may have been a priest who's really really good at it without formal training.

Not in this AU, unfortunately :

Kesshare will see to it that she gets it, at least, just like she did with Nolani and Isshiri after the mess with Ulore--broken tools simply do not function as well as she needs, and she has uses for Kirana yet.
