Summary: Chloe's first press conference after her sex tape is leaked.

Her hands were shaking. The reporters couldn't see them and neither could their cameras with them tucked in her lap behind the table, but Chloe knew. Her hands were shaking, her heart was pounding, and she was only somewhat positive that she wasn't going to be sick to her stomach. Stage fright.

She always got stage fright. It was her biggest secret. The few moments before a curtain drop, or the start of the show, or now, before a press conference, she always got stage fright. It went away whenever she saw the audience and realized that she owned the stage, but she was sure that wouldn't be the same when she looked up to cameras and reporters waiting to record everything she said.

Chloe couldn't blame the fear she felt on stage fright. She had been scared since this started the day before. This could ruin her career. One wrong move, one wrong word, or phrase, or emotion, and this could ruin her career. This could ruin her life.

She was thankful that she could keep this all off of her face. Miss Nicoletta had been her inspiration for learning how to smooth her expression until nothing showed at all, and it came in very handy now. She still wished Kurt were with her. He could at least make her hands stop shaking.

Chloe looked up when Faith walked up to take the seat beside her. "Sorry I'm late. Piper was convincing me not to punch someone's face in," she said, after checking to make sure their mics weren't live. Faith squeezed her should comfortingly. "It'll be alright, Cherry."

"I don't want to be Cherry today," she muttered in response, trying not to sound as freaked out as she felt. She thought she succeeded.

"I can work with that," Faith said. "You ready?"

She took a deep breath. No. "Yeah."

Faith cued for their mics to be turned on, and Chloe looked out at the sea of reporters.

"This is our official statement," Faith said, not welcoming the reporters or thanking them for showing up, because she never did. "Yesterday morning, while Mrs. Grant was out of her hotel room, an employee of the hotel stole and later illegally distributed a private video that belonged to Mrs. Grant and her husband. We are taking every legal action possible against the jackass who did it."

And a few illegal ones, if Chloe knew her family.

"We're also taking it offline." Faith grinned in a way that let the reporters know it was more than that. "Before we officially start taking questions, I'm going to say upfront that any irrelevant or offensive questions will be outright ignored because they aren't worth wasting oxygen to answer. You can start chattering now."

The clamor of reporters was almost frighteningly loud. Chloe glanced over at Faith; she was pointing at different reporters, and Chloe realized that she was eeny-meenie-miney-moe-ing which reporter to choose first.

"You, with the horrible tie."

"I have something to add actually," she interrupted, before the reporter ask her anything. "If you don't mind. This isn't a press conference about something related to my career. This is something from my personal life. I'm not here as Cherry Cherry Boom Boom today."

There was a short pause, before they all started talking again, even louder, and she almost flinched back in her seat.

Faith muttered something inaudible, obviously irritated, before she leaned forward to speak into the mic. "You can let her talk, or I can end the press conference right now. Your choice."

Since Faith had done similar things to that in the past, they quieted down quickly.

It took her a moment to answer. "What happened was something horrible. This isn't something I've enjoyed, or my husband enjoyed, and I'm ashamed of anyone that has enjoyed it. This wasn't something Cherry did to get publicity or to cause a scandal, this was something private between my husband and I, and a dishonest person ruined that."

She was looking down at her hands by the time she finished saying that. She had started wringing them at some point, and she was amazed she had been able to say all of that without throwing up.

"That's all I have to say about the matter, actually," she quietly tacked on, before someone could try and ask another question. She turned to Faith, not caring if the mics were live. "I'm done."

"Fine with me." She turned back to the press. "You can leave now."

They both ignored the voices behind them as they got up from the table and left the room. Chloe ignored everything until she was back to hotel room, and Kurt hugged her and kissed her, and told her he loved her.

"You did amazing," he told her.

She smiled hesitantly, unsure about that. "We'll see."

Oh, poor Chloe, all those people staring at her and looking for a way to tear her down. I'm glad Faith was there to lay down the law.

Oh God, poor Chloe. She did do amazing, though, just stating up front that it was something private that somebody took away and ruined, and making it clear that she wasn't going to entertain any other voices on the matter, because it wasn't any of their business.

Also, omg Faith. "You, with the horrible tie."

Great job. <3
